About foundation JazzNL

Foundation JazzNL is founded in 2005. Foundation JazzNL initiates, organizes and supports projects (conventions, festivals, showcases jazzexpeditions and network meetings), on behalf of internationalization and professionalization of Dutch Jazz and improvised music, connecting international jazz networks and exploring new jazz markets worldwide.

World Jazz Conference

The foundation JazzNL is organising the exclusive international World Jazz Conference in Amersfoort, after a succesfull start in 2016. The conference will take place on June 9 and 10, 2017 during the Rabobank Amersfoort Jazz Festival

The aim of the World Jazz Conference is to host an eco-system of strong players from all over the globe to share visions and enhance collaboration between eachother on an international level. Important elements are key-note speaches, discussion groups, multi-lateral meetins, network drinks and, most importantly, a parallel musical progam under the name "Laureates festival". A special selected international line-up of winners of important leading competitions.

Sena Performers International Jazz Laureate Festival

JazzNL is organising the Sena Performers International Jazz Laureate Festival as a new important part of their activities. Festivals attending the World Jazz Conference are given the opportunity to showcase a laureate of their choice to play at the Laureate Festival. The proposed musicians will enter a multi-day program including their own performances, collaborations with other laureates, workshops, lectures, network sessions and optionally the jam sessions. The aim is to create a unique experience for the laureates while boosting their careers at the same time.

The JazzExpeditions is a bilateral cooperation between two vibrant national jazz networks. South Africa was 2016th collaborating exchange partner for JazzNL, which meant ten internationally acclaimed South African musicians performed at the festival and that following September fourteen Dutch artists performed in South Africa.
