About Amersfoort Jazz:
"The Amersfoort Jazz Festival is the oldest Dutch jazz festival which takes place annually in the beautiful historic city center of Amersfoort, providing high quality jazz and first-class performances of international and national jazz artists for everyone. During 4 days the cream of the (inter-)national jazz scene, living legends and young aspiring talents can be seen on multiple in- and outdoor stages, embedded in the classy atmosphere of the city's monumental buildings and historic centre. A dynamic and diverse program of World Jazz is offered to the audience (more than 80.000 visitors each year) and to a worldwide festival network, creating an event of international allure in the field of jazz and improvised world music.
Amersfoort Jazz is THE European next generation festival. It offers young artists the opportunity to present their talent and skill to a broad audience and an international professional festival network. Therefore, Amersfoort Jazz is justifiably considered a serious starting point for international careers.
The core element of Amersfoort Jazz’ musical program is improvisation. It is the common denominator of the abundant variety of jazz and world music (world jazz) presented at Amersfoort Jazz. However, there is also space for a program of more “adventurous“ music: Amersfoort Jazz dares to push the boundaries and also invites artists who represent more unconventional forms of jazz and world music.
Amersfoort Jazz is an artist's paradise, a place for cultural and artistic exchange and sustainable networking. At Amersfoort Jazz, artists come and stay to connect with each other, initiate border-crossing collaborations and share their experience in a unique and gratifying setting."

About Babel Jazz Festival:
"Babel Sound is a world music event and an artist residency which is an interactive meeting point for various cultures and branches of art. The festival's mission is to present and pass on cultural heritage and deepen the mutual respect for each other through arts. Last year Babel Sound hosted performers from more than 20 countries.
We create an environment that encourages creative co-operation, play and personal encounter between audience and performer through workshops, masterclasses and jam sessions. A special feature of Babel Sound is that performers - besides playing a concert - spend several days of the festival with us and with each other. They build bridges, like professional and cultural relationships.
Our connection with jazz is mainly represented through world jazz, which is one of the most popular genres performed at our festival."
