The World Jazz Network (WJN) is an internationaal network, initiated and set up by JazzNL, to connect jazz musicians, festivals, bookers, venues and other tastemakers in the world wide jazz industries. It acts as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange, creating new opportunities for the global jazz scene.  Its most important aims and objectives are:

  • Strengthening the jazz community

By bringing together professionals, musicians, festivals, bookers, venues and other jazz tastemakers, the network contributes to strengthening the global jazz community. This not only strengthens individual players, but also the genre as a whole.

  • Globalizing jazz through collaboration

The World Jazz Network offers a structured platform to foster internationale collaborations between jazz musicians and festivals around the world. Through the network, global collaborations are facilitated. Recent example are collaborations between partners Nida Jazz in Lithuania, Canarias Jazz in Spain and Szczecin Jazz in Poland, or between Banyan Tree in India and South-Africa’s Joy of Jazz festival, all arranged and coordinated by the World Jazz Network.

  • Creating new opportunities for Young talent

The network enables jazz musicians to enter into international collaborations and perform on global stages, creating new opportunities for both emerging and established talent. Identifying, promoting and supporting young jazz talents to help them develop their careers at an international level.

  • Sharing knowledge

The network enables knowledge to be shared. By organizing educational programs, workshops, coaching and conferences, it promote knowledge sharing and contribute to the professional development of jazz musicians and professionals.

  • Promoting diversity 

The network actively pursues diversity in representation within the network; including a diverse range of voices, cultural traditions and perspectives.
